Kakanoo Marine and Marine Solutions Alliance in 2011

October 17th, 2011 - by Nino Krisnan

The Indonesia Maritime Expo 2011 is over and Marine Solutions Alliance (MSA) booth, a Kakanoo Marine’s invention,  has passed its first test and trial. Our participation in the MSA has shown us how synergy between marine industry stakeholders could bring us many advantages. Many booth visitors found their answer at the MSA booth as their needs can be covered by more than one MSA booth exhibitors and our MSA booth exhibitors had their expectations met.

One incisive example was that several booth visitors (the project owners) came in with a set of requirements for a marine vessel design, in need of  an engineering consultant and a shipyard to build the vessel. In MSAbooth, they were able to meet both service provider and to sit with them to discuss the possibilities to execute their projects. Some of the discussion results led to opportunities of real projects that we are currently following up

The other example is that one prominent tourism businessman in Indonesia was interested in our concept of BAYachts’s Archipelago Explorer 37 yacht design concept of a dive and/or cruise vessel that  is designed to serve Indonesia’s magnificent waters. He showed us how our vessel idea can be combined and can complement his tourism network system to attract his company’s existing market share of Indonesian tourism.

Another person visited us and was interested in developing a marina; he had a clear concept and wanted to explore opportunities and see whether it was possible that our clients’ charter type of boats and yachts could be blended into his marina plan. We will continue this discussion to keep ourselves open to further collaboration opportunities.

Those are some examples on how MSA missions have started to be accomplished in our initial stage and we just need to keep improving the MSA brand concept into more implementable marketing, promotional and communication vehicle. We are going to keep developing the MSA website and creating a more events that are inline with MSA‘s missions.

Hope to see you all at MSA’s future events; just keep monitoring our MSA website and keep it on your radar.

Discussion Forum (Results): The Future of Boat and Yacht Industry in Indonesia

October 16th, 2011 - by Nino Krisnan

Kakanoo Marine participated as exhibitor in the Marine Solutions Alliance booth at the Indonesia Maritime Expo 2011, 13-15 October 2011, at the Jakarta Convention Center. Thanks to our co-exhibitors, the Boat Indonesia (Indonesian boat community), BAYachts and Kakanoo Marine team were given the opportunity to present a topic of “The Future of Boat and Yacht Industry in Indonesia” on Saturday, 15 October 2011 in the expo’s discussion forum.

Kakanoo Marine CEO presented the topic and had a great time hosting a very good interactive discussion forum, which was attended by local and international audiences. We believe that we and most of the participants had optimistically concluded that there is a bright future for the boat and yacht industries in Indonesia, considering that Indonesia (the largest archipelago in the world, covers around half of the coral triangle, is home to hundreds of different cultures, 95.181 km of tropical coastline, among many things) is one of the world’s greatest playground for boats and yachts. However, we need to keep working on our homework, in keeping with the Indonesian boat and yacht vision. The identified key issues as the homework were:

  • Information Management (source, distribution and access)
  • Business Environment Management  (marketing and promotion, fiscal & monetary regulation, logistic, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Operation Environment Management  (seamanship, seaworthiness, security, SAR, etc.)
  • Environment Management  (pollution, fuel efficiency, waste management, etc.)
  • Industry Environment Empowerment (technology, knowledge, professionalism, synergy, benchmarking, etc.)

BAYachts and Kakanoo Marine, together with our boat and maritime community (Boat Indonesia and Indonesia Maritime Club) and also other stakeholders, keep on working-hard and smart-in order to turn the vision into reality.

Kakanoo Marine in Indonesia Maritime Expo 2011

October 11th, 2011 - by Nino Krisnan

On 13-15 October 2011, Kakanoo Marine will participate in Indonesia Maritime Expo 2011, www.indonesiamaritimexpo.com, the 3rd maritime expo held by Panorama Convex in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Indonesia.

As a marine consultant, Kakanoo Marine cannot handle the opportunities in maritime business related projects by just relying on our own. We need support from other related stakeholders with complementing competence and expertise (boatyards and shipyards, boat and  ship operators, marine logistics, etc.). We need to support each other and together we can even innovate new opportunities and projects.

Kakanoo Marine has created a brand called Marine Solutions Alliance (MSA), www.marinesolutionsalliance.com, where maritime business stakeholders can join together under one roof to promote our competence and expertise in order to synergistically transform Indonesia’s maritime business potentials into opportunities, and opportunities into investments.

We are happy to have you in our MSA Booth at the Indonesia Maritime Expo 2011, Hall A, Booth 34-39, JCC.
